Trunk issues from hell--- She claims to beloved her big tits, and luscious hips/donkey, but is beyond jealous of the female vampires' taut lean bodies with their perky tits and slim thighs. She is very insecure in her own skin. There is a bit of fat shaming as the female vamps insult her size, calling her robust multiple times. Some mean it as a compliment when they tell her she has birthing hips...but nosotros all know what that really means!!!
Damn if this heroine isn't wishy-washy--- I really needed her to make up her mind and try to exist a tad bit consistent. She's totally offended that the vampire kings want to feed from her and only agrees to it because she is jealous when other females offer to feed them. Zane is attacked by the elves inside the first hour of her visit and needs her help to remove the poisoned pointer from his shoulder. He is very weak and needs her assistance in the shower afterward. She refuses to have sex with Zane or allow him to drinkable from her which volition help him heal, but gives him a blow job in the shower before they've ever even kissed. When another female person offers to feed the king because he is then weak, she gets jealous once more and allows Zane to feed from her. He is not immune to touch her during the process but she gain to finger herself to orgasm as he feeds. Aaannd so she gives him shit for jacking off. I mean why is information technology ok for you to hike up your skirt and finger yourself every bit he feeds from y'all and not expect he may want to get off besides???
She has refused to have sexual activity with Zane so he tells her he will take sex with other females while she is off sleeping with the other vampire king, Brant. Of course she gets jealous even though she has declined sex with him....Then has sex with him less than a few hours after.

Lack of priorities---In that location has been a breach in the parameter and the king is summoned to the site with all haste. After begging to go with Zane, know he needs to exit in a bustle, Tanya goes to the bathroom to dress. But then decides its a good time to brush her teeth and put on make up. I hateful, WTF Lady???
Using sex to go your way Whenever Tanya isn't happy with a decision the kings make, she threatens to withhold sexual activity to get her manner.
The sexual practice in this book was erotic, but the only likable character out of this threesome was Zane. I volition read the side by side book in the series just out of marvel and in hope that the primary couple is more than tolerable.

This series had it all. If you dearest PNR this is a must-read.

I got to 80% on my kindle and really stopped caring. It was ridiculous and unrealistic reactions between characters. I actually couldn't care to finish it. It reminded me of kids playing make believe. Things just happened in that location is no build up. I actually wanted to like the volume but couldn't. I am glad I got it on kindle unlimited. Information technology says 18+ just it is like a teen romance.

First off, the earth building was non-existent. Where did the vampires live? They lived on earth and had homo technology, but didn't interact with many humans, I estimate. They had some human lingo simply then didn't know about some things like blowjobs. It would have been better if they lived in a different realm or something.

I don't know why I finished this book. I wanted to like it. Information technology had a somewhat skilful concept. But at that place was soooo much wrong with this.First off, the world building was non-existent. Where did the vampires alive? They lived on earth and had human applied science, but didn't interact with many humans, I guess. They had some human lingo but then didn't know near some things similar blowjobs. Sorry, but you lot tin can't have information technology both ways, honey. And so forbids them from being with other women from the very start even though she was still unsure virtually being with them. Ugh, and then when they were going to fight each other before the actually mating ceremony and she leaves and refuses to go back with them. Fifty-fifty though they were trying to get dorsum with her and even showing her they could get along, but still she wouldn't believe them. How is information technology that two men wanted to be with her? It didn't make any sense other than she was sturdy enough to be with them and had birthing hips. She even stomped her feet when she wasn't getting her way. Hated the way she got into the business concern with the elves and talked Estral into her needing to appointment. Come up on, if this was a true supernatural/fantasy globe, so she would never exist able to push her agenda and views the way she did and expect everyone to change their ways to her views in life.
The writing wasn't that bad per se. I accept read books a lot worse, just the content was bad. The concept could have worked if information technology had ameliorate characters and had better world edifice.

I am besides hoping these things change considering that actually bothered me and I did non fully enjoy this book every bit much as I would accept liked to. Otherwise this book was succulent and I gobbled information technology upward! I enjoyed information technology and I cannot wait to read the next book to run into what happens. Something happens to Tanya and the baby. Brant and Zane come up together deciding that they would exercise anything for their female. Even working and mating her together.
I actually liked this series. It definitely was smutastic. At starting time I was a niggling bellyaching with the fact of forcing simply later the ceremony both males show that they will exist slow with her. Letting her decide when to accept the next step. I also like the whole triangle. Yes I'm a little messed upward when it comes to fantasies just hey at that place is probably something a petty off about your's besides. Don't judge me! Practise I recommend this? No it might non be for everyone. It hit the right spot for me though.

I overall really liked the premise of the book and how it sets up for other books in this companion series.
It was an okay book, but I want to continue with the series to see what happens.

Get-go permit me say that this is a paranormal romance novel, and it longer so about stories, which is a plus in my book. Their is a very interesting take on vampires and humans. I really enjoyed the storyline with all the chaos and hot sex thrown in.
Interesting characters, that brand me desire to read more stories in the series to see what happens side by side.

Called by the Vampire Kings is the start volume in The Chosen Series by Charlene Hartnady. This is my offset read from Ms. Hartnady- and with this book I've discovered that I'm quite late to a really rockin' party! I take had quite a few of Ms. Hartnady's books on my Kindle for a long time at present, and am actually kicking myself that I didn't dive into them sooner to discover what a bright storyteller she is. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this book/series, so much so that I've gone on a one-click spree and
5 StarsChosen by the Vampire Kings is the first book in The Chosen Series by Charlene Hartnady. This is my first read from Ms. Hartnady- and with this book I've discovered that I'k quite late to a actually rockin' party! I take had quite a few of Ms. Hartnady's books on my Kindle for a long fourth dimension now, and am really kicking myself that I didn't dive into them sooner to discover what a brilliant storyteller she is. I Absolutely LOVE this book/series, then much so that I've gone on a one-click spree and purchased many more of her books to explore ASAP. My TBR is out of control (lol)…. But now that Ms. Hartnady has made it onto my radar, she volition firmly stay on my 'Must Read' listing.
This is an incredibly expert paranormal romance, with wonderful originality, Vampires, Elves, Shifters, a love triangle, Ménage (MFM), suspense, danger, action, adventure, some angst, and a bit of drama. All added together made this an intriguing, HOT, sexy, erotic, and captivating read.
The characters are all really well developed- with their ain individual personalities, quirks, and flaws. The chemical science betwixt them was electrifying! But that's not all that made this such a not bad read- because the story is really well woven as well, with an intensity I never expected. There was a little sense of humour, and enough of emotion besides- which helped to balance the sexy, dramatic, and suspenseful elements. We go to hear from all three chief players, and this fabricated the story even more intense and intriguing.
This isn't just a sexy dearest triangle, where ii vampires compete for their chosen female- there is and then much more going on. This is a war of species, with unusual alliances, hidden agendas, ability plays, tenuous truces, ruthlessness, violence, danger, choices, being hunted, hope, reconciliation, unity, heartache, wellness scares, miracles, and and so much more.
If y'all love paranormal romance, sizzling storylines, love triangles/ménages, wonderful characters, dominant alpha male types, feisty stubborn leading ladies, vampires, action, and suspense- all wrapped up in with wonderful emotional elements, then this is definitely a story you won't want to miss out on!

Okay so I'm torn on this one. Outset I liked the heroine. She was an unwilling participant in the "chosen" ceremony and doesn't immediately autumn into bed with the heroes. I mean it does happen just hey she lasted like two days earlier banging both dudes. I mean tall dark and obsessed....uhm yes delight
Also appreciated when the guys invariably cock up she doesn't immediately cave but instead proclaims her "I am adult female hear me roar" speech and clicks her heels back home. I like a heroine with some backbone who isn't afraid to stand upwards for herself.
So why the depression-ish rating. Honestly it just got a bit much as the story went on. The "conflict" that occurs got a chip ridiculous and repetitive. I mean if this volume was turned into a drinking game every time the phrase "ascendant nature" or "dominant" was mentioned this bitch would exist turnt
That aside I'll probably continue in the serial to hope that the authors vocabulary expands across the "D" word.
Anyway, Brant choses Tanya every bit a mate and she is supposed to become queen of his coven. Unfortunately, Zane, the other five 2 vampire kings each chose a homo mate at the "Choosing Ceremony", held every 100 years because vampire woman don't get significant oft. Permit'due south start with that. So, they selection 1 woman every 100 years? That only gives them about 5-10 new vampires in each coven every 100 years (depending on how barefoot and meaning she stays) and to superlative it off she's pregers for 12 months! Yeah ok!
Anyhow, Brant choses Tanya as a mate and she is supposed to go queen of his coven. Unfortunately, Zane, the other vampire King, evokes the "Mate'due south Lore", when the woman he chose commits suicide. Now Tanya has to appointment both and make a decision in ix days.
In the meantime, the supernaturals accept declared war on the vampires, knowing if they kill "the new queen", in that location won't be any more new vampire babies in either coven.
This story flew all over the place and didn't make much sense when it landed. Similar why were the shifters, elves, etc. trying to off the vampires? And how the hell could Tanya mayhap be jealous over Zane beingness with other women when she was screwing both of them. The ménage part of the story didn't even make sense either because these 2 are sworn enemies.
I should have ended it but it was 1 of those train wrecks you come up across but merely can't look away from.

Side by side, Tanya in one case is stating she's non going to go and has a prospective futurity planned out...and in the very next instant is calmly loading upwards in the car with Brant.... umm then in the very next instant they are rutting ...and then she's rutting with Zane. It was so unbelievable that any girl could go from No Mode non happening to let's have a 3 some. Nope I have to take at least some believability or for the FMC to take enough backbone to stand up by her principles.

And I had a difficult time getting over the fact that the author thinks women with small hips can't have kids. Yeah, it could be a piddling bit more difficult then if you have wide hips simply it's not a problem. Maybe some more than research into this would go a long way.
Anyway, I enjoyed the series, it was entertaining and a fast read.
I will give the next books in this universe a try. Well this was a fun read.

Information technology is a story of understanding, dearest, and true try to save a species from extinction. The vampires, of course.
Don't exist a cynic. The Kings are hot and Tanya, the called, has fun, but it goes across that.
Tanya lives in a minor city where two covens of vampires share the right of choosing a human mate every one hundred years.
The reason for that is the female vampires small hips that makes most of them unable to bear young.
She is called by one of the kings against her will. The whole thing disrupts her life but fighting is illegal and dangerous.
Tanya is non a horny girl out to have some fun; the state of affairs fell on her head against her volition.
She has real issues nearly the whole thought, simply she has to create a solution. And she does.
The two vampire kings must get over their feuds and their mutual distrust or lose everything.
She is the only one able to curve the two hotheads and save the two covens.
The way to that will brand you express joy, get sad and of course, fan yourself.

Would I read it again? No. It left some issues unresolved and had a really abrupt ending. I likewise don't know why it was then long when the story was so unproblematic.
