Yous need set "tcp.val >

I got the same issue but following steps worked for me, it seems Gaurav likewise has shared it already:

From your inputs in the dialog, you are using port 5500. That port is what is used for EM Limited. It answers to HTTPs traffic only. So in this case the -1 error bulletin means the protocol negotiation failed. SQLDEV is trying to talk SQL*NET to something listening for HTTPs.

The port you are looking for is 1521 if it wasn't altered. If it was check the $ORACLE_HOME/network/admin/listener.ora for the proper port number.

Effort Connection name: HR_ORCL Username: HR , Password: hr , Connection type : local, Role: SYSDBA Click on connect. It will piece of work.

Seems you take enabled ACL on the listener.

You can follow these steps to avoid the fault:

Hope that helps

Actually, It is non database specific result. it is related to port value generated by database during your installation. To overcome on this consequence, please follow beneath.

  1. Go to the folder where you have installed the database (Like: F:app)
  2. Here y'all will exist able to encounter many folders, get to product11.ii.0("your databse version")dbhome_1NETWORKADMIN
  3. observe listener.ora file and open up as text file
  4. Cheque for the port number in that file
  5. Now provide that port number while doing connection in sql developer.

Hope it will resolve your issue.

Ensure the DB is upward and running and y'all tin can connect locally Every bit SYSDBA to the database using Oracle binaries owner (usually oracle:oinstall Unix / Linux user). If information technology does not work, probably you come across a dissimilar problem. Bank check privileges of an Oracle file on Unix / Linux host where database is running:

Change permissions equally below:

Most of the answers out at that place for this problem point to using the incorrect PORT number in your connection options, or similar. In my example, later a couple hours of searching, the reason showed to be something else.

Mind which user you are using when starting Oracle listener. You should do it with the oracle user, not as root . Otherwise you lot end upwardly with listener files being created as e.g. user deamon group root instead of user oracle group dba. This in turn leads to:

To cheque whether this is the instance, get to

and list all files (ls -la). If you find out some of the s#* files existence created by a root-group user, stop the listener (lsnrctl cease), delete the above files as root and restart the listener every bit oracle user.

Unfortunately sqldeveloper doesn't show the total stack-trace when reading "Got minus one from a read call". I could notice the problem thanks to switching to SQL-Squirrel.

The IO Error: Got minus one from a read call error is caused by the SQLNET.ora file on the database server being configured to but let connections from certain computers on the network (as >

Attempting to connect to a database via SQL Programmer throws the fault when testing or attempting to use the connection:

If the TCP.VALIDNODE_CHECKING parameter is enabled In the SQNET.ora file and so the IP address of each computer allowed to connect to databases via the listener configured using that SQLNET.ora file volition need to exist added to the TCP.INVITED_NODES list.

Here is an example SQLNET.ora file with VALIDNODE_CHECKING enabled and ane calculator (with the IP accost 192.168.one.101) granted access:

In that location is an opposite parameter to TCP.INVITED_NODES; TCP.EXCLUDED_NODES will forbid access to those IP addresses configured in its list.

With the appropriate settings in place, SQL Programmer should be able to connect as planned:

I setup a DB cloud example merely now I tin't connect to it using SQL Developer.

I setup the SSH connection in SQL Developer + port forwarding and I test that connection successfully.

Just when I try to create a connection, I e'er become this error:

"STATUS: Failure — Exam Failed: I/O error: Got minus one from read call, connect lapse XX ms, Authentication lapse 0 ms."
